The Corsair Gaming Strafe is, as the name already suggests, a mechanical gaming keyboard. The first version of the keyboard was released in June 2015. The RGB Silent version followed later that year.
Update June 2018: Corsair introduced a new model of the keyboard, the Corsair Strafe RGB MK.2.
Strafe vs Strafe RGB
There are multiple versions of the Corsair Gaming Strafe. The normal version of the keyboard (“Corsair Gaming Strafe”) features Cherry MX Blue, MX Brown or MX Red switches and dynamic red backlighting. The RGB version of the keyboard (“Corsair Gaming Strafe RGB”) features Cherry MX Blue, MX Brown, MX Red or MX Silent switches and dynamic multi-color backlighting. MX Silent switches are similar to MX Red, but up to 30% quieter.
All versions of the keyboard have additional FPS & MOBA keycap sets included. These keycaps are textured and contoured and enable enhanced grip and feel. A keycap puller for an easy exchange is also included.
Fully Programmable Gaming Keyboard
The Corsair Gaming Strafe is clearly designed for high performance gaming. It features N-Key-Rollover and offers 100% Anti-Ghosting-Technology. The keyboard is fully programmable. With the included CUE (Corsair Utility Engine) software, any key can be reassigned and macros can be set up. The software is also used to configure the illumination. There are many different lighting modes and effects available.
The Corsair Gaming Strafe doesn’t have any dedicated media keys, but the function keys F7 to F12 can be used to control the playback of audio or video and adjust the volume. The keyboard needs two USB ports, but also offers one additional slot to connect devices via the USB Passthrough. Last but not least, the keyboard comes with a detachable wrist rest.

"The Corsair Gaming STRAFE Silent RGB is a solid keyboard and the RGB backlighting is excellent. These new silent switches may not appeal to everyone however – so if you can, try before you buy."

"There are a number of reasons to consider the Strafe RGB over the standard Strafe. For an extra £40 or so, you get a half-decent wrist rest and much more appealing backlighting. "
