HyperX Alloy Elite 2

HyperX Alloy Elite 2

Alloy Elite 2 is the high-end keyboard from HyperX introduced in summer 2020.

Do you want more RGB Lighting?

It is pretty obvious that the lighting is a big selling point of the HyperX Alloy Elite 2. It is equipped with pudding keycaps which have translucent sides to create a bright and vibrant lighting experience. Also, a LED bar on top of the keyboard adds further lighting to the mix. To configure the illumination, the NGenuity software offers various presets but also allows for individual customization, up to controlling the lighting on an individual per-key-level.

The keyboard’s RGB lighting is without a doubt quite an eye-catcher, but the HyperX Alloy Elite 2 also has other features to offer. With n-key rollover, 1,000 Hz Polling Rate, game mode and on-onboard storage for up to three profiles, the keyboard is well-equipped for gaming. Moreover, it offers a convenient USB passthrough to connect and charge any USB device. To control the playback of music or videos, the keyboard further offers a few dedicated media controls, as well as a volume wheel.

Own Brand HyperX Switch

The Alloy Elite 2 features the HyperX Red Switch, a linear switch similar to Cherry MX Red. The switch was first seen at the very successful Alloy Origins and was well-received by the gaming community.

The HyperX Alloy Elite 2 delivers the key specs needed for gaming and it handles itself well in pretty much all situations. The pudding keycaps are also very easy on the eye."

4 out of 5 points

"HyperX put its own key switches in the Alloy Elite 2, and the keyboard's better for it, but this solid mechanical model needs a set-apart feature, beyond its spiffy two-layer keycaps, to merit true "Elite" status."
