The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini is the 60% version of Razer’s third generation of optical keyboards. The two other versions are called Huntsman V3 Pro and Huntsman V3 Pro TKL.
Analog Optical Switches
Optical switches are actuated by a signal of light. This technology provides a few advantages over common mechanical switches which actuate by creating a physical contact. It makes a lower error rate possible. The technique was further improved on release of the Razer Huntsman V2 Analog: new analog switches made it possible to not only differentiate between the two states “the key is pressed” and “the key is not pressed” but to also know how far down a key is pressed. This information allows different nuances of inputs in games and enables dual-step actuation, i.e., two actions executed within a single keystroke. All models of the Huntsman V3 Pro are equipped with analog optical switches of the newest generation.
Huntsman V3 Pro Mini – A Small Gaming Keyboard
The Razer Huntsman V3 Pro Mini features a 60 percent form factor, i.e., it has neither arrow keys, numpad nor navigation keys. It is mainly targeted towards gamers who value the lower space requirements on their desk. With the previously mentioned analog optical switches, double-shot PBT keycaps, impressive RGB lighting, NRKO and gaming integration via Razer Synapse, Razer has assembled a well-equipped small gaming keyboard with the main disadvantage of having a high price tag.
